On Friday night, we encountered exactly the crowd we expected to meet before My Chemical Romance's concert at The Garden: die-hard supporters with poetic souls, pumped-up fans ready to rock and the mother of two bandmembers weighing in with her thoughts on Gerard's greatest 'do.
What is the higher honor, a Jammy or a Grammy? Which jam band has the funniest name? And what is a Jammy, anyway?
Alex Iglesias brought the FanCam to the WaMu Theater at MSG on Wednesday for The 7th Annual Jammy Awards and got the answers to these questions while rubbing elbows with the jam scene's greatest asset: music lovers.
Were you at the big show? Which performances were unforgettable? Did you expect Phish to get together for one last jam? Tell us about it!
When The Heart of the City Tour hit MSG on Friday night, Jay-Z and Mary J. Blige fans came to The Garden very excited for the big show ... and they were not afraid to show it.
Meet the very talented audience that stepped out to enjoy a night of music ... and share the songs in their hearts:
Were you there? Tell us all about it! Missed the show? You have two more chances to rock with Jay and Mary J. — tonight and tomorrow at The Garden.
Are you lost when it comes to "Lost?" Of course there is always something I'm lost with on the show, but rather than spending several days listing all of my unanswered questions, I'm listing the most important unanswered questions about "Lost"'s looks into the future.
Remember, the last episodes were taking us into flash-forward mode with all of the Oceanic Six survivors. So in ascending order of importance, I give you the Top 10 Unanswered Questions About "Lost" Flash-Forwards:
Every time The Garden announces an addition to the concert lineup I gear up. How so, you may ask? I gear up with my iTunes. Let me put it this way — if a civilization from a galaxy far, far away were ever to find my iTunes library many years from now, they would not be able to tell my age, gender, cultural background or whether I was even a member of the human race.
In honor of my iTuning conquest, and a countdown to the Jay-Z/Mary J. Blige shows coming up in May, here is what I've decided are a MUST FIVE on the list. (Sorry, Mary J. but I'm all about the J — the Jay-Z).
Never in the history of the concert FanCam have we experienced so much devotion, enthusiasm and good ol' love for one man. Way back in January we ran into these citizens of Mr. Brown's empire and realized there just wasn't enough room for everyone to make the cut.
Well, my oh my... Based on the responses from people who weren't even at the show, if I ever had the chance to be one man for a day, do you know who it would be? It would be Chris Brown. In honor of his dancing majesty and his fans (the greatest FanCamatics to date), I present the Top Five Greatest Chris Brown Fan Comments, Ever.

Think you can make the next list of Fan Faves? Tell us why!
Bob Weir and RatDog rolled into the Beacon Theatre for three nights of jamming last weekend. And along with the music came the Deadheads, RatDogs and loving fans of Mr. Weir.
Back out on assignment to the Upper West Side of town was the FanCam with an assortment of questions: What really is a RatDog? Who are Deadheads? And what truly is the meaning of those energy rocks everyone is always selling before a show? Needless to say, we were enlightened by the devotion to music these fans have -- Dig it, man. We dig it.
Good morning. I'm stepping in for my colleague Jane O'Donnell this morning (she's got important gov't business to take care of). I know some of you might be upset, but I'll do my best to provide you with this Monday morning's Breakfast Bites.
I probably don't read as much as O'Donnell does because I love me some TV between 6-10AM.
Sarah Jessica Parker enlightened America on the Today Show this morning (after speaking in circles about how her world is at the "salad point" in life) that her five-year-old son, James Wilkie, is "really into this election." Really? Wow. I couldn't believe it, but the Huffington Post appears to have heard the same last week.
I want my VH1!? I only want it between 6-9am. If you thought reality TV killed the video star, VH1ers have happily given us a morning dose of music videos M-F and they totally show the entire video. What's the big deal? That neat little song from the MacBook Air commercials -- "New Soul" by Yael Naim -- is in the video countdown!
Oh, Regis. What are we going to do with you? This was a big day for Philbin on Live. We discovered that he is now taller than two women -- Kelly, of course -- and Ramiele Malubay of American Idol. The second display of all things Regis was his ability to make Kelly Ripa and Brittany Snow go head-to-head in a Toe Off. Huh? Yes, they sat facing each other, removed their shoes and were asked to remove the cap off of a toothpaste bottle, pour it out onto a brush and then proceed to brush their teeth with their toes.
Rest In Peace, Mr. Heston. For those of you who haven't heard, the great and legendary Charlton Heston died this weekend at the age of 84. I read (yes, read) about it this past Sunday, but Good Morning America put together the tearjerker video montage we all knew was coming.
I've seen a lot of crazy stuff in New York, but I've never seen a clown. This isn't to say that I've haven't had the honor of watching a clown in action at a birthday party or the circus. It's a clown's ecosystem, after all. It's where clowns are meant to live — parties, the circus, Halloween or in the movies.
But technically, I've never really seen a clown wandering the streets of Manhattan and I wanted to change that. I wanted to know if it's possible for several million people to remain so indifferent that not even a clown could change the ebb and flow of New York.
I've seen a man selling books dressed as Superman. I've even seen people riding the subway in just their underwear. Did I care? No. Did others really care? Not particularly, unless you made them late for work. And I'm dismissing the Naked Cowboy in this experiment because he's a) famous and b) hangs around Times Square all day. This is not part of the formula for ebbing and flowing as a New Yorker.
So would anyone really care if a clown wandered the streets of New York in search of at least one laugh? Here's Part I of my version of Tyra Banksdressing up in a fat suit, except I'm dressed as — you guessed it — a clown:
Aretha Franklin reigned over Radio City Music Hall for two nights this weekend. Were you there? Want to relive the magic? Or did you miss it and want to see what went down? See photos of the diva on stage right here.
What's the best part of the circus? Which fun food beats all others? What animal is the toughest to imitate?
Alex Iglesias met the fans who came out in force to enjoy Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey's Over The Top on Friday and got the answers to those questions and much more.
They're here! Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey's elephants arrived in Manhattan early this morning, passing through the Midtown Tunnel and walking the streets of New York to Madison Square Garden. The Monitor's Alex Iglesias was there, and reports that keeping up with the march is no easy task -- those elephants walk a whole lot faster than you might guess.
In the days leading up to St. Patrick's Day, The Monitor will be honoring pop culture's
most venerable Irish figures with Patron Saints Week.
I love Michael Flatley -- not, like, love him, but he's the epitome of male machismo from a long time ago (let's say the '80s). So how can I not love his ability to employ gay men alongside some of the sexiest female dancers in step-dancing history? Which leaves him as the sole, shirtless leader of his Irish dancing stage phenomenon -- Lord of The Dance.
You would think his amazing powers to captivate audiences of all ages (my drunk roomies and I back in college would actually watch LOTD just to watch these girls and master the company front arm fold) could make him the Patron Saint of Young People (there are already 11 of them). Or maybe it's his ability to out-step, out-chest-wax and out-muscle any dance opponent on stage that could qualify him as the Patron Saint of Invincibility (Saint Drausinus) or Dance (Saint Vitus). Could he be the master of women everywhere, making him the Saint of Women and knocking Mary Magdalene off the pedestal?
No, he is none of those. He is more, baby! The Monitor officially dubs Michael Flatley, "Lord of the Dance " king, the Patron Saint of Irish Step Dance Performance.
At the end of the day, wouldn't you want to trade places for ... an hour?
He once fronted a heavy metal band. He has vowed to avoid an English-language crossover to honor his native tongue. He's won a ton of Latin Grammys. He's sold millions of records. And boy is he sexy.
So what's the sexiest thing about Juanes? It's the music, right? His talent? His humble personality? His beautiful face? We heard a lot of good answers, but on the whole, Juanes fans admit to checking out one part of him more than any other.
See it for yourself:
Were you at the show? How was his hair? Share your stories and photos!
Movies are nothing without great dialog, right? And sure, the Oscars will honor writers on Sunday with a couple of screenplay awards, but The Monitor believes that film's great lines deserve more shine.
Alex Iglesias took the Fan Cam to New York's streets and asked people to share their all-time favorite movie quotes.
Watch for one memorable line from the Academy Award nominated "Juno," along with everything from "Terminator" 's iconic "I'll be back" to a couple of favorites that left us stumped:
The Monitor's Alex Iglesias hit the street with the Fan Cam to talk movies with New Yorkers.
Before the Academy hands out their prizes for 2007's top films, the stars of the Fan Cam are honoring their favorite flicks ... everything from Oscar winner "Annie Hall" to super-creepy horror film "The Hills Have Eyes."
See it all right here:
So what's your all-time favorite movie? Tell us about it!
Last week I took our Fan Cam to a new level with the Doggie Cam while interviewing dogs at the Westminster Dog Show. As we know, dogs cannot speak. That is, until we found the new and improved version of Doggie Cam on YouTube where some dude Jason voiced over the dogs -- And they ANSWERED our questions!
It's been years since we've had thousands of NYC-area Spice Girls fans under one roof, so The Monitor took the opportunity to pose some burning questions.
Find out which Spice is the fan favorite, see if fans remember the words to "Wannabe" after all these years and learn the secret behind "Zigazig Ha!"
Who fills up Madison Square Garden for the two-day Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show? Dog breeders? Dog lovers? Cat haters? We went into the stands to get the scoop from the Dog Show spectators themselves.
We didn't stay for the show because we spent another lovely evening with the fans, their cowboy hats and those adorable girls who came all the way from LSU — Is there anything cuter than southern girls in cowboy hats?
